Continually preoccupied with the concept of personal “demons,” Grace Lang’s work reflects on the internal struggles that plague us all, creating visual expressions of those dark little thoughts that we find at once frightening and sort of funny.
Much of Grace's work stems from the belief that these personal demons are not necessarily enemies, but rather, aspects of our selves that can be utilized for good. The figures in her drawings, paintings and sculptures are manifestations of her hopes for herself and for creatures everywhere. The stories she tells are those of triumph. With each difficult experience, our armor grows and we become the warriors of our worlds.
